In 2020 Hannah Steenbergen, a new entrant farmer, started Meadowsweet beef. She keeps a small herd of heritage cattle that’s raised in a way that respects animals,
regenerates the land, and provides nutrient-dense food straight from the farm. The cattle at Meadowsweet are 100% pasture-fed, slow-grown, and are known as individuals (with names!)
Ahimsa, meaning “non-violence,” is a unique, cruelty-free dairy farm rooted in traditional Indian farming principles, where no harm or slaughter takes place. Since its founding in 2007, the farm has earned widespread popularity, with a waiting list of over 1,000 eager customers seeking their ethically produced, calf-at-foot milk.
