Urbanastudio was born out of a desire to produce clothing items that allow women to be the best version of themselves in a fast-paced world.
Our mission is to create timeless pieces that last a lifetime: minimalist pieces, with timeless design, combined with a transparent, fair and sustainable process.
Slow fashion is our main pillar. We do not intend to produce at a high speed, on the contrary we embrace “slow” because it gives us time to, reflect (inspiration), draw (sketch), choose (fabrics) and then produce (pieces) with impeccable finishes and with details that make all the difference.
Time gives us confidence that we create quality production, not only in the garments, but in the life of the entire human chain that works directly or indirectly with us.
MADE IN PORTUGAL
In the process of creating the “capsule collection”, the founder has a direct and active participation, hence the importance of time: sketching of the models, selection of fabrics, design, modeling, cutting and after making them, she sends them to the final customer.
Our pieces are all made in Portugal, in a studio in Lisbon, by seamstresses who dedicate their time, their soul and their heart to creating the best they know how to do: clothes.
Our dream is that the pieces take their course, are acquired by someone, who will give you value and a life of your own
For URBANA STUDIO, sustainability means having direct contact and in-depth knowledge of our suppliers, whether the fabric factories, trimmings, and others, or the people - seamstresses - who make our pieces
The fact that our factories are Portuguese and our seamstresses in Lisbon guarantee a higher quality of work for those who work for us, as well as quality in the finishing of the piece. At urban studio we are committed to sustainability and waste reduction:
a) the remains of fabrics are used to make accessories such as rubber bands, hair bands, bags, and the like.
b) Our labels are made of recycled paper, as well as our packaging
The materials used are natural, recycled or organic:
Cotton 100% Organic
As we are a small brand we do not produce on a large scale, so the price of making is not based on quantity, but on the piece. With regard to fabrics and because our concept is limited edition, we do not buy large amounts of footage, we often end up buying rolls up to 50 meters and, as such, the price is not as low as we would like, in addition to our fabrics because they are natural, organic or recycled have a higher cost.
“Committed to producing pieces with the least environmental impact, urbana studio is an expression of its founder, where design, quality and sustainability of fabrics are valued. We want to be part of the change. And we say that sustainable fashion can be beautiful. “
